Dennis Cooper, born in 1953, has a reputation as a cult author but never made it into the mainstream. This may be due to the fact that early on he was labeled an ‚enfant terrible‘ who wanted to provoke with explicit depictions of sex and violence. He is currently in a high phase: his new, tenth novel I Wished was published at the end of last year. At the same time, Luftschacht Verlag published his 2004 novel Die Schlampe (Orig. The Sluts) for the first time. He is currently preparing his third film and maintains his blog almost every day. In the meantime he found the time for an interview.
